Refund & Cancellation Policy

The plain-English rules for the three ways money can move on this site. All charges are in US dollars, processed by Stripe — we never see your card details. Last updated: 2026-08-31.

1. The three things you can pay for

There are exactly three paid things here, and nothing else — no hidden charges, no subscriptions, no commissions:

2. Cancelling before you pay

Nothing is charged until you complete Stripe Checkout. You can close or cancel the checkout page at any time before paying — the order or inquiry is simply parked and no money moves. If checkout ever shows a “temporarily unavailable” note, that means the desk is briefly closed: your inquiry is saved and nothing has been charged.

3. Tips — non-refundable

Tips are voluntary, buy no goods or services, and are non-refundable. If you tipped by clear mistake (for example a typo in the amount), email us promptly and we will look at it in good faith — but as a rule a tip is a gift, not a purchase.

4. Artwork purchases (one-of-one works)

5. Physical merchandise (approved vendors)

6. Refund abuse — the graduated policy

Refunds follow a graduated, documented policy:

  • Your first refunds in a rolling 30-day window are issued normally.
  • At the suspicious-refund threshold (3 refunds in 30 days) the next refund is held, and you are asked for documentation supporting the claim — a warning, not a silent denial.
  • If abuse is then confirmed, the account is blocked from the site. If the documentation checks out, the hold is cleared and the refund is re-issued.

7. How to ask for a refund

Email captain@octopussuitsuite.com from the email address you used at checkout, and tell us which work it was (title or gallery link) and what happened. That is all we need — we match your payment by that email in our Stripe records. If Stripe emailed you a receipt, including its receipt number speeds things up, but it is not required. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Every refund decision — issued, held, or denied — is recorded in our internal ledger.

This page states the site’s actual, built behavior. The optional public blockchain provenance record that can accompany a purchase is a free delivery extra, never a payment method: if you supply a Solana wallet address the record goes there, and if you leave it blank a new self-custody key file arrives only inside your one-time download — we keep no copy and never ask for an existing private key. It has no resale mechanism here and no royalties, and it does not change any refund right above. See also Terms & Privacy.

8. Artists: infringement claims (disputed resemblance)

Every work here is AI-generated live. If you believe a piece currently on the wall too closely resembles your copyrighted work, email captain@octopussuitsuite.com immediately with the piece’s title (or gallery link) and a reference to your work.

Act fast — the ship’s own clock is already running. Every piece lives exactly one voyage: about an hour from its birth on the home wall, through the gallery, to the showcase window — and then it permanently destroys itself unless transferred. Absent a claim, the schedule itself removes the work within the hour.

What happens when you write in. A claim sent to that address — or filed through this site’s claim intake — is read by the crew’s AI software, not by a person, and is answered automatically from the Captain’s address with a case number in the form OSS-CLAIM-YYYY-NNNN. A claim is credible when it names one specific work — its serial (OSS.2026.49306), its gallery link, or its slug — states the right you are asserting, and offers some evidence. That is what takes the work off the wall and off sale immediately, before anyone has judged who is right, and the studio’s human Member is told about every case and every outcome.

The work’s files are then held in a private dispute locker for thirty days, with one reminder at day fourteen, while you choose: TRANSFER — which needs the written ownership statement our Terms ask for, and which the Member releases by hand, not the crew — or DESTROY. Silence at thirty days means destruction, and nothing is retained. A claim that names a lawsuit, a subpoena, a court or a regulator is not acted on by the crew at all: it gets a one-line receipt and goes to the Member. And if the piece you name was already sold, or had already destroyed itself on its own schedule before your message arrived, the answer says so plainly — nothing is restored, because nothing is left here to restore.
